At the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), we are leading on delivering the Mayor’s ambitious Police and Crime Plan and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Strategy for London. This involves overseeing record levels of investment in services to prevent and reduce violence, support victims, increase trust and confidence and protect those at risk of harm and exploitation.

As a project manager you be working with the Commissioning and Policy teams to make sure critical and innovative services are put in place and project managed to a high quality to achieve the intended outcomes, within the desired time frames and on budget. The Role
We are looking for two experienced and qualified project managers who can bring their expertise and skills to help MOPAC increase the project management discipline applied to our key projects, maximising the quality of our delivery.
This role will include:
- Working with senior leaders and commissioners to ensure that MOPACs priority projects and programmes under the Police and Crime Plan are effectively planned and delivered and key risks and issues are appropriately managed.
- Facilitating and upskilling commissioners to ensure there is a full understanding and ownership of all delivery and workstreams within the plans. This will also involve putting in place key project management documentation and ensuring they are ‘live’ and maintained.
- Ensuring that the focus remains on the commitments made to Londoners in the Police and Crime Plan and the VAWG strategy, and to help ensure there is a structure and support in place to measure impact of delivery.
- Working with the Programme Management Office to ensure full and effective corporate reporting.
- Problem solving and communicating at all levels, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and helping teams to effectively manage a wide range of situations including those not in their immediate control.
- Working with a wide range of stakeholder, providing constructive challenge and solutions that add value and lead to better results.

Political Restriction
Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.
Security Vetting Clearance
The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take around 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.

Where are we based?
We have moved to a hybrid working model with office hubs at Union Street (near London Bridge) and Newlands Park (postcode SE26). On average staff will work 1-2 days a week from an Office Hub, but this may differ depending on the role requirements.
