Location - Flexible can be home based or hybrid with Bristol office, some travel will be required
About Young Lives vs Cancer
When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.
Young Lives vs Cancer helps children and young people (0-25) and their families find the strength to face cancer.
About the role
As the Head of Strategy and Planning within the Income and Engagement directorate, you will lead on developing the charity’s strategic approach to income and brand awareness growth, our growth roadmap. With your team you will also support operational planning across our Income Generation and Engagement (Brand and Marcomms) directorate, and then support the teams by tracking and reporting performance. Working closely with the Director of Income and Engagement, you will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team in the directorate and provide oversight to our key strategic programmes within the directorate. Leading a multi-disciplinary team, you will also have accountability for innovation within the Directorate and fostering engagement with growth across the charity.
You and your team will:
- Oversee the engagement of the directorate in the long and short term organisational planning processes. Supporting performance tracking and management to enable us to make the best use of our resources to drive growth.
- Support the effective delivery of a range of cross-directorate and cross-organisational projects and programmes to maximise long-term audience engagement, brand value, organisational supporter focus and income growth.
- Lead the engagement of the directorate with teams in other parts of the organisation including insight, operations and the Project Management Office.
- Support I&E to develop business cases for new opportunities, identify resources to fund them, and evaluate the impact of new products or approaches.
- Lead on I&E process improvement and forging ways of working to drive growth and innovation
About you
We would love to hear from you if you have the:
- Capability to lead strategy and planning delivery across complex areas
- Experience of effectively managing significant programmes and projects especially those focused onto income growth and/or marketing.
- Knowledge of project management methodology and approaches, including agile and track record of effectively manage multiple and complex projects and programmes.
- Experience to evidence successful stakeholder management and cross-organisational collaboration
- Ability to operate with high emotional intelligence and to effectively manage and lead teams and individuals
