Location: Flexible - can be home based or hybrid with Bristol office, some travel will be required
About Young Lives vs Cancer
When a child is diagnosed with cancer, life becomes full of fear for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.

About the role
The Associate Director of Brand and Marketing Communications is an exciting and newly created role. You will deliver Young Lives vs Cancer’s strategy through the Brand and Marketing Communications function to grow the charity’s brand, reach, influence and income.
Leading the development of the brand strategy and marketing communications, you will ensure the charity’s positioning and voice are clear, compelling and visible. The Associate Director will also oversee audience insight and shape our content and comms around delivering a consistent and engaging audience experience based on needs.
You will:
- Work closely with the Policy, Influencing and Voice directorate, and in particular with the Head of Media and PR, so that the charity’s messaging, campaign activity and media work are aligned and underpinned by our brand positioning.
- Ensure strong and consistent internal understanding of and engagement their brand story and positioning by working alongside the Head of Brand Strategy and Creative, colleagues in Organisational Development and Internal Communications, and more widely across the charity.
- Build and maintain synergy between their brand, service marketing and fundraising response marketing activity to maximise the reach and impact of marketing communications.
- Lead the development of effective journeys and high-quality experiences for all their audiences, including importantly their supporters, and being customer centric, insight driven and evidenced based in the approach to this.
- Work with the Associate Director of Supporter Engagement and the Director of Policy, Influencing and Voice to lead the development of appropriate and relevant evaluation methodologies to measure the continued impact of communications activity.
