Mind is growing to meet the scale and complexity of mental health needs in England and Wales “We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect”.
Their 2021 Strategy made a significant commitment to changing the way they work so that they can increase their sustainability, impact and continue to move closer to achieving their mission. Supporting people who are experiencing poverty is a high priority change initiative. Mind want to be bolder, braver, more agile and responsive, evolving as an organisation to reach those who need them most. Managing the implementation across Mind is essential in translating these ambitions into tangible change, both across Mind and ultimately in how people facing poverty access and experience mental health support.
Purpose and Scope of the role
In this role you will form part of an expanding equity and change expert team that supports the development and delivery of Mind’s strategic ambitions to address inequity within mental health, with a focus (though not exclusive) on race and poverty. The team is situated within Mind’s Organisational Change team, which is accountable for mobilising change across their work to achieve their strategic ambitions and includes the organisation’s Project Management Office.
The Strategic Change Lead for Poverty and Social Exclusion will also work closely with other senior leaders to maintain a holistic approach to change, focussed on improving the experiences of people from their priority audiences, both within Mind and when they work within and alongside communities in the fight for mental health.
We would like to hear from you if you have:
An understanding of the relationship between poverty and mental health
An appreciation of how an organisation like Mind can support people facing poverty
Knowledge of how to manage projects and build relationships with key stakeholders across a complex organisation
Track record of leading change initiatives and deliverables
Previous line management and strategic leadership experience
Mind are committed to becoming actively anti-racist in everything they do. This is a critical priority for Mind. Mind embrace diversity and understand that being an inclusive organisation, recognising different perspectives, will enable them to provide excellent services. Mind are committed to ensuring all their employees are treated fairly and equitably at work and promoting equity in physical and mental health for all.
