The GLA’s Green Infrastructure team promotes and delivers the Mayor's Green Infrastructure policies and programmes and coordinates the London Urban Forest Partnership with the Forestry Commission. The team is recruiting a London Urban Forest Plan coordinator following a successful funding bid to the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund (TCAF). In addition to funding this role, the grant is funding eight projects led by LUFP partners to deliver tree planting, woodland management and community engagement projects across London over three years.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery, monitoring and updating of the London Urban Forest Plan, working closely with key stakeholders in the London Urban Forest Partnership. They will also provide co-ordination for the TCAF project, organising regular project meetings with delivery partners, reporting on project progress and outcomes, and evaluating the programme.
The role sits in the Green Infrastructure team and your work will contribute to making London’s public realm greener, improving access to, and enhancing green spaces, increasing the capital’s resilience to the impacts of climate change and safeguarding and enhancing biodiversity.
We are looking for an individual who is familiar with the tree and woodland sector and has excellent project and programme management experience. This should include project planning, budget management, risk management, issue resolution and evaluation. This role is particularly suited to someone from the environment sector who wants to advance their career in project and programme management.
This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
