Lecturer (Community Performance and Applied Theatre) - Royal Central School of Speech and Drama
- Salary, Grade 6: £41,315 - £45,860 per annum, including London weighting
- Fixed-Term/Permanent – Full Time
The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (Central) are seeking to appoint two Lecturers in Applied Theatre and Community Performance. One on a permanent contract, and one for a ten-month fixed term. Both are full-time posts, but enquiries about job sharing are welcome.
You will primarily teach students across two programmes: BA Contemporary Performance Practice (including but not limited to BA Drama, Applied Theatre and Education) and MA Applied Theatre. You will teach across a range of units from introductory applied and community performance to advanced specialist practices, for example relating to community performance or theatre in healthcare, or in the criminal justice system. Additionally, you will have responsibility for liaison with community partners, for example in planning student outreach projects or organising placements and will contribute to theoretical aspects of these programmes in areas relating to their specialist field.
We would like to hear from you if you:
- Have substantial professional practical experience in initiating, delivering and managing theatre or performance practice in applied, community or related contexts. with your practice being distinctive, advanced and innovative.
- Hold Areor are near completion of a PhD,
- Are experienced practitioners interested in pursuing their practice as scholarship or research. Practice as research is viewed positively within the institution.
