The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.
The MOPAC Programme Management Office (PMO) is at the core of MOPAC’s priority Programmes, working with Programme Boards to direct the delivery of the work, ensuring that progress is accurately reported, and risks, issues and dependencies are managed. The PMO also works with stakeholders, namely the Project Sponsors and Leads, building key relationships and helping to share best practice in Programme and Project Management.
The PMO Lead will manage a team of project support officers and together work with the project teams to help them to plan, deliver and report on their work. MOPAC encourages continuous learning and improvement in our work and the PMO are able to offer and share the experiences from past projects and identify opportunities for cross-organisational learning through the lessons learned log.
This role will include;
Engaging Project Sponsors and Project Leads and help them to navigate through MOPAC’s five-stage Project Management Lifecycle
Working with Project Leads to collate and report monthly Project Dashboards to feed into the Programme Highlight Report, managed by the PPM Lead
Leading the management of Programme Boards, collating information into highlight reports and producing a monthly programme ‘health check’ cross the portfolio.
Supporting Project Leads in using MOPAC’s Project Management Toolkit, including providing demonstrations, advice and guidance for the tools.
Maintaining and updating MOPAC’s Corporate Dashboard, working with teams to ensure timely updates of key information.
Maintaining and updating the MOPAC Project Management Toolkit.
Contributing to MOPAC’s commitment to continuous learning and improvement by managing a ‘Lessons Learned Log’.
Own and develop the MOPAC Corporate Performance Dashboard.

Political Restriction; under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) all members of staff of MOPAC will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption.
Security Vetting Clearance
The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security vetting which may take around 8 weeks to be completed. Applicants will also need to have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.

Where are we based?
We have moved to a hybrid working model with office hubs at Union Street (near London Bridge) and Newlands Park (postcode SE26). On average staff will work 1-2 days a week from an Office Hub, but this may differ depending on the role requirements.
